Hi! I’m Catherine “Cat” Oshiro. I’m a Product Designer & Illustrator.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. As an 80’s child, I naturally grew up with The Muppets, Alf, Happy Meal Toys, Hello Kitty and Mr. Sketch Markers. All of this reflects who I am today.
I attended Chico State University and graduated with a degree in Communication Design (emphasis in Graphic Design). I have a great passion for all things visual- wether it be mobile, web, branding, illustration & even food. Each one comes with a unique experience and impactful visual story. Some of my skills include Product Design (UI/UX), Mobile Design, Web Design, HTML/CSS, Print, Branding & Identity, Iconography, and Digital Illustration. My passion for problem solving using empathy and critical thinking helps me build successful digital experiences.
In my 16 plus years of design, I’ve had to pleasure to lead design on large ecommerce sites such as method products (CPG) and Caliva (Cannabis) & experience designing for large media companies such as Bleacher Report.
Some of my current and past clients include: Cast Jewelry, The Cool Down, Decent, Independent Beauty Association, Scorpion, Mend, Google, Yelp, Foodspotting, Twitter, if(we), Jolicloud, Everyday Health, BetterWorks, Common Sense Media, One True Fan, Posterous, ORD Design, NailedKit.
I continue to fill my office space with all the things that inspire me - including limited edition vinyl figures, plushes, & mini food sculptures. I’m constantly on the hunt for the perfect crispy french fry and freshly brewed coffee. On my free time I draw, go hiking, and foster dogs mostly rescued from Korea.
